The Valve ... Gadgets in Play January, 2008
|
The plan right now is to have a little discussion about what we're using once a month in
terms of technology. I've already managed to post the page for software use in January
and here is the hardware we are using and some notable experiences with it.
The end of January, one morning with temperatures of -42C and a wind chill of -55C, I
discovered another reason for the price difference between a Toyota Prius in Canada
and one in the US. I'm sure the Canadian version must have a thermocouple that reads
below -22F. Add that to the DRL and block heater and that surely equates 'made in
Canada' pricing ;)

Kale still hates her 2 year old Samsung Cell Phone although like all things Samsung it
just keeps working (unfortunately in her mind). She really wants a more text savvy
model although the auxilliary gadgets you can get don't really interest her. The Sony
DSC W90 8 MP camera with the Carl Zeiss lense beats any phone camera and she just
adores the Ipod Touch. Some day I'm hoping she'll write her first review on the
'Touch' but we'll have to wait and see.

Ad abandoned the Wii, and PC gaming by the end of January becoming totally
engrossed in Call of Duty 4. For a while there, Rock Band was giving it some
competition, along with DDR 2 and Mass Effect, but they are all on standby along with
the Wii. So for now the XBOX 360 rules the gaming TV.
It just shows why a franchise like Halo 3, last December, could pull a companies whole
gaming division into the black. From what I'm hearing, Call of Duty 4 may be even
bigger over time.
